
Coffee-shop Series is a photography based multimedia project by Amirali Ghasemi. it was realized exhibited for the 1st time at Cafe AKS, Tehran, in summer 2005. Then it was shocased as part of IMAGINE ART AFTER project, an online exhibition and exchange curated by Breda Beban (1958-2012). The project published on The Guardian newspaper’s website (link). Later on, the project featured in various shows from New York to New Zealand, followed by a number of high profile publications such as IRANIAN PHOTOGRAPHY NOW Edited by Rose Issa.
Ghasemi is showing the project again in a group show curated by Andrea Fitzpatrick in Toronto which opens tonight in Toronto’s gallery 44. He is currently working on a book which explores different perspectives and various issues around the project.
